2008 Summer Program
The ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle, knew of magnets 2400 years ago. We play with magnets as toddlers. A magnet's properties seem both simple and mysterious: we see and hear and remember (in hard drives) with magnets. Assemble a complete magnet experiment laboratory. Wind one large electromagnet. Construct signalers, the motors, machines, magic, and art that make magnetism's invisible forces visible (and fun.) Complete with dancing scientists and refrigerator poetry.
