Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing–absolutely nothing–half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
- Water Rat, Wind in the Willows, Kenneth Gramme 1908

Throughout history, it was customary for a shipbuilder to make a miniature model of the vessel under construction. By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this practice had been adopted as the hobby of Model Yachting. A pond yacht is just that, an accurate replica of a classic sailing vessel designed to sail on its own across a pond or a pool. Sailing one of these replicas is a perfect way to spend a breezy day.

  • Work every day on an elegant Pond Yacht. A 'free sailor,' rigged to guide itself.
  • Join a team to create a unique cardboard boat for friendly competition in our annual Mill River regatta on Friday afternoon.
