How to make a robot? Practice.
Make a robot pet. Start with a small box. With scissors and tape, paper and wood scraps, add legs and wheels. Add ears, eyes, and a tail. Add a collar. And a name tag. A good beginning – it needs a name.
Now, start with a box big enough to climb into. Cut a screen for seeing. Add noisemakers or lights for signaling. Add a port for adding 'fuel.'
Move on. Invent tools and toys for your robot. And continue on from there...
Inspired by Antoinette Poris' Not a Box 2007. A story of thinking inside and outside of boxes.
