Yale's Beinecke Library just celebrated its 50th birthday. It is an architectural treasure chest that protects ancient and modern books and manuscripts.
Construct your own Beinecke Library in miniature, complete with stacks for storing micro books and manuscripts. Encounter the history of the Library and the history of books. Create ancient Mesopotamian Cylinder scrolls, Roman diptychs, Medieval manuscripts, and books you'll print on the Museum's printing press. Make stamps to mark your letters. Create a book that will tell your story. Create the librarians and historians who work and study at the Beinecke, and then take a trip to the Library to meet them.
